Romance novelist Paul Sheldon is rescued from a car crash by his “number one fan,” Annie Wilkes, and wakes up captive in her secluded home. Annie forces Paul to write her a new novel, and he soon realizes Annie has no intention of letting him go. Annie has Paul writing as if his life depends on it…and it does. All performances are held at the Hanifl Performing Arts Center: 4941 Long Ave., White Bear Lake, Minnesota. Free parking is available in the lot surrounding the theatre.

CONTENT advisory & AGE RECOMMENDATION
This show is recommended for ages 16+ (“Rated R”). It contains adult themes, profanity (including the “f-word”), physical violence & murder, stage blood, and gore. Misery does not shy away from its roots in the horror genre. This play contains stage guns which will produce a loud, abrupt, simulated noise. These guns are 100% safe for our audience and our cast/crew. Additional content advisories may be determined closer to opening.
MICROPHONES & aCCESSIBILITY INFORMATION
For their safety, actors will not be using microphones for performances of Misery. While our theatre was built to amplify the natural voice, if you are hard of hearing, you may wish to attend our open-captioned performance on Sunday, January 26. Additional open-captioned performances may be added.
Pay-what-you-want
The Pay-What-You-Want performance for this show takes place on Thursday, January 30, at 7:30 PM. To select Pay-What-You-Want pricing, choose your seat for this performance and the Pay-What-You-Want option will be at the top. You may edit this price to be what you wish to pay for your ticket. A $3 facilities fee will be added to each Pay-What-You-Want ticket at check-out.
