To our valued supporters of the 10-Minute Play Festival,

After 20 incredible seasons of producing the 10-Minute Play Festival, Lakeshore Players Theatre is thrilled to announce the next era of this beloved program. While there will not be a 10-Minute Play Festival on Lakeshore's stage in the 2024-2025 Season, Lakeshore will be collaborating with Century College to co-produce the festival the following year. Lakeshore will continue to cultivate relationships with playwrights and collect new, never-before-seen short plays in the Summer of 2025. Century College students will work together on the play reading and selection process as a part of their theatre arts curriculum, incorporating traditions such as the popular “Read-Aloud Day.” After the final play selection, open auditions for the Twin Cities theatre community will be held to cast the shows, and the festival performances will be held in the newly-renovated Century College Playhouse theatre in the Winter of 2026.

For the past 20 years, the play festival has held a special place in our hearts—from playwrights to actors, from play-readers to directors, and especially to our audiences. Lakeshore Players is grateful for everyone who brought this festival to life and for its wonderful legacy. We are excited to be a part of moving the festival forward and sharing it with a new generation of theatre-makers. 

Lakeshore Players is also proud to announce that this 10-Minute Play Festival is a part of a larger partnership with Century College. In 2024-2025, Century College Playhouse will be presenting two shows in the Royal Credit Union Theatre, previously known as our Black Box Theatre, while their own campus theatre is under renovation. In addition, the two organizations are in the planning phases on future productions and other theatrical training programs.
